The Catapecchia is located in the "broili" of Papariano, an area whose name originates from the Celtic language "brogilos", very common in Cisalpine Gaul. In the Middle Ages, the term referred to a homestead with fenced garden and orchard. The locality, known up to the seventeenth century as "Borgo degli Andriani", hosts the seventeenth-century palace belonging to this family of timber producers. In the seventeenth century the residential complex, which included the building and the "folador" (grapes milling room) was completed with a chapel dedicated to Saint Mary of the Snow.
A recent renovation work has helped to preserve many of the original structures.
The restaurant also offers its guests meat special dishes and fresh grilled fish.
